A grocery shopper returned to a Kroger after the supermarket had been out of bananas the previous day.

On that shopping trip, she left the store with bananas and a winning lottery ticket, according to the Virginia Lottery.

Nancy Webb, of Appomattox, scratched the ticket in the grocery store parking lot, according to a May 23 news release from the lottery.

She won $300,000, the second-highest prize of the “100X the Money” game, the agency said. The top prize is $5 million.

Webb, who said she doesn’t play the lottery much, won the $30 game’s first $300,000 prize, according to the lottery. Two are left.

Appomattox is about 95 miles west of Richmond.
