Oklahoma man gets 30 years for strangling his stepfather with his underwear

SHAWNEE, Okla. – An Oklahoma man has been sentenced to 30 years in prison after admitting he strangled his stepfather after a fight by pulling his underwear over his head.

The Oklahoman reports that Brad Lee Davis, of McLoud, was sentenced on Thursday.

Davis pleaded guilty in May to first-degree manslaughter. He was accused of killing his stepfather, Denver Lee St. Clair, after a fight in December 2013.

He told investigators that they fought because St. Clair had insulted his mother and called him a bully.

A doctor who did the autopsy said St. Clair died when the elastic band of his torn underwear was pulled over his head from behind and pressed against his neck, cutting off his airway.
