Victor Mosher recently splurged, paying an extra $1 to add Power Play on several Virginia Powerball tickets — and it paid off big time.

Mosher matched four of the winning numbers and the Powerball, earning him a $50,000 prize, according to an April 5 Virginia Lottery news release. Thanks to his extra $1, though, Mosher’s prize was tripled to $150,000.

“I kept looking at it, making sure it was real!” he told lottery officials.

Mosher said he bought his winning ticket at Legacy Markets in Culpeper.

“When I saw it, I couldn’t believe it!” he said. “It’s absolutely amazing!”

Culpeper is about 90 miles northwest of Richmond.
