There’s pricey Hamptons estates, and then there’s this trailer — that sold for $3.75M

When people picture fancy estates in the popular seaside destination of the Hamptons in New York, images of large, million dollar cottages with open floor plans and walls of windows overlooking the ocean usually come to mind.

A trailer is probably the last thing one would think of.

But this not even 800-square-foot beauty is in the process of slam-dancing all over a regional record thanks to it being in contract to sell for $3.75 million.

The two-bedroom, two-bathroom unit in Montauk Shores “is the most stunning property in the complex and is a custom build by John Hummel that features high-end finishes with a modern beach style,” a news release said.

“Not to mention it has 180-degree views of the ocean from the living room and back deck.”

Other features include:

  • Primary en-suite

  • Gas fireplace

  • Views galore

  • Private deck

  • Grill

  • Outdoor shower

The off-market deal towers over the last highest recorded sale for a trailer in Montauk Shores, which was $1.85 million, the release said.

The Ditch Plains area in general is very special. It is an oasis for surfers and beachgoers, and in the past several years has been subject to an extraordinary amount of growth and transformation,” listing agent Will Gold told the New York Post.

“Especially since COVID, individuals and families have realized the value of oceanfront communities and are paying up for it,” he told the news outlet. “This beachfront row of units in ‘Montauk Shores’ is the perfect exclusive opportunity to enjoy everything Ditch Plains has to offer.”

For those looking to break into the wealthy area, there’s another trailer on the market that’s just as glamorous for $1.999 million, Douglas Elliman notes.
