A lawn care worker fell into a pool with his equipment and drowned, according to Georgia officials.

The man was working on a lawn at a home in West Lake, a gated community in Martinez, about 140 miles east of Atlanta, on Oct. 19 when he fell into the pool, according to The Augusta Press.

He was wearing a leaf blower on his back when he fell in, WJBF reported.

The man was identified as Keontae Alston, 22, of Augusta, WRDW reported, citing Columbia County Coroner Vernon Collins.

He was pronounced dead at the scene at around 6:30 p.m., according to the outlet.

Friends and family members mourned Alston on Facebook.

“I’m really tired of seeing my generation (lose) their lives,” wrote Orlando Mays, “... hate this happened.”

“I miss my baby,” his mother, who goes by “Cherika Luvnmyboys Leeks” on Facebook, commented.

The Columbia County Coroner’s Office and Columbia County Sheriff’s Office could not be reached for comment on the evening of Oct. 20.
