Taylor Swift to drop album teaser during NFL game. ‘What time is the 3rd quarter?’
Taylor Swift fans have been eagerly awaiting any minuscule scrap of news regarding her next studio album, “Midnights”. So much so that they’re willing to watch … a football game?
The singer/songwriter announced that she will drop a teaser trailer for the upcoming album during the third quarter of the Oct. 20 NFL game between the Arizona Cardinals at New Orleans Saints game on “Thursday Night Football”.
Which, yes, this means they’re hounding their NFL-loving friends with a series of questions that have absolutely nothing to do with the Saints’ Tyrann Mathieu facing the team that drafted him. Most questions that were fired off on Twitter during the day had to do with Swifties asking specifics about what time the third quarter falls.
As football lovers already know, the answer isn’t that simple.
While the game — which starts at 8:15 p.m. ET and will be televised by Amazon Prime Video — is composed of 60 minutes broken into four 15-minute quarters, it’s much longer in real time, especially if officials make “roughing the passer” calls every time someone even looks at the quarterback wrong.
Typically, a game lasts around three hours, with each half running 1.5 hours give or take (including 12 minutes for halftime), which would put the third quarter around 10 p.m. ET, SB Nation reports.
Amazon is sure to see a sudden spike around this time that will have nothing to do with the game itself, just die-hard fans tuning in to figure out what Swift meant when she uttered the word “projects.”
