Driver dodges railroad barrier and dies after train pushes truck down tracks, SC cops say
UPDATE: The Charleston County Coroner confirmed that the truck driver was Kevin Scott, 52, from Hollywood, South Carolina, about 20 miles west of Charleston.

A tow truck driver died after a collision with a train, South Carolina cops say.
The driver, who police have not publicly identified, was trying to drive a flatbed tow truck around a railroad arm at about 4:30 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 4, at the railroad crossing near Salters Hill Road and Drayton Street in Ravenel, Charleston County Sheriff’s Office said in a news release.
The truck was struck by a northbound CSX freight train, according to deputies. The train then pushed the truck about a half-mile down the track.
When deputies arrived at the scene, they located the truck and removed the driver, who was the only occupant. Deputies said the driver was taken in an ambulance to the Medical University of South Carolina Medical Center where he was pronounced dead.
No one else was injured during the collision, deputies said.
The collision is under investigation.
Ravenel is about 20 miles west of Charleston.
