A 17-year-old died after being injured in a woodchipper, according to Pennsylvania officials.

The Pennsylvania State Police received a call at 1:30 p.m. on Tuesday, Aug. 9, about a person injured while working with a woodchipper, according to the department’s news release.

Troopers arrived at the site to find a 17-year-old “critically injured,” the release said.

The teen was working with a tree removal company when his clothing caught in the commercial woodchipper and he was “partially pulled” in, Lehigh Valley Live reported, citing police and the Lehigh County Coroner.

Emergency responders gave the teen medical treatment on site before he was flown by helicopter to a hospital, police said. The teen died from his injuries an hour later.

Lehigh County Coroner’s Office identified the teen as Isiah M. Bedocs of Coplay, and ruled his death accidental, caused by “multiple traumatic injuries,” The Morning Call reported.

Lehigh County is about 60 miles northwest of Philadelphia.
