A hiker was found dead after falling from a waterfall, Georgia authorities say.

Georgia game wardens, accompanied by Dawson County, Lumpkin County and Forsyth County personnel, responded to a call about an injured person at Bearden Creek Falls shortly after noon on July 17, according to the Georgia Department of Natural Resources.

Responders hiked about two miles before reaching the scene, where they found the hiker dead.

Authorities turned the body over to the Dawson County Coroner. The hiker’s name has not been released.

The incident is considered an accident, Dawson County Fire & EMS said in a press release.

Bearden Falls is a 200-foot waterfall that is considered the third member of the “Three Sisters” waterfalls. The waterfall is located in Chattahoochee National Forest, about 95 miles north of Atlanta.
