California man dies after jet ski enters ‘swim only’ area of river, Arizona cops say
UPDATE: A California man who was injured in a jet ski accident in Arizona has died, police said.
Ricardo Aponte Almanza, 43 of Corona, was one of the four swimmers injured when an out-of-control jet ski entered the “swim-only area” of the Colorado River at Community Park in Bullhead City on Monday, July 4, according to the Bullhead City Police Department. He died July 6.
“The fatal watercraft accident is still under investigation,” police said.

Four people were injured this past holiday weekend after being hit by an out-of-control jet ski at a river in Arizona, officials said.
A woman lost control of a jet ski and entered a “swim-only area” of the Colorado River at Community Park in Bullhead City on Monday, July 4, the Bullhead City Police Department said on Twitter. One of the four injured swimmers is in critical condition.
Police have not released the names of the jet ski operator or those injured.
The incident is under investigation, police said.
