Two bikers ejected and killed when motorcycle collides with a deer, Ohio police say
Two motorcyclists were killed when their bike hit a deer on a highway in Ohio, officials said.
Ohio State Highway Patrol said in a news release that troopers responded to the accident in Wyandot County, about 75 miles from Columbus, Ohio, late at night on Saturday, June 25.
Arriving on the scene at 11:40 p.m., troopers said they found the motorcycle overturned on the right shoulder of the southbound lanes of U.S. 23. The vehicle had collided with a deer on the roadway, ejecting both riders.
The driver, Robert Schrake Jr., 61, and passenger, Susan Schrake, 60, both of Morral, Ohio, were pronounced dead at the scene, troopers said.
Neither individual was wearing a helmet, officials said. The crash remains under investigation, but officials do not believe alcohol to be a factor.
