8 women at retreat need rescue during hike in 100-degree heat, Arizona officials say
Eight women part of a retreat needed rescuing while hiking an Arizona mountain in 100-degree heat, fire officials told multiple news outlets.
The group of women started hiking Camelback Mountain’s Echo Canyon trail in Phoenix the morning of Thursday, June 23, KSAZ-TV reported.
By about noon, the hikers needed medical attention and help getting down the mountain, 3TV/CBS 5 reported.
Three people were taken to a hospital in stable condition, KSAZ-TV reported.
The temperature in Phoenix was 106 at the time of the rescue, according to timeanddate.
The hikers said they were in the city for filming a reality TV show, KPNX-TV reported.
