Curious bear wanders into Six Flags and ends up stuck, California officials say

A curious bear paid a visit to the Six Flags Magic Mountain amusement park near Los Angeles, but wound up in a sticky situation, firefighters reported.

The bear became trapped between two cargo containers on the park’s back lot on Thursday, May 5, requiring rescue by the Los Angeles County Fire Department, a news release said.

Firefighters freed the bear, assisted by California Fish and Game and the Los Angeles County Department of Animal Care and Control, the release said.

Firefighting heavy rescue teams moved one of the containers enough to access the bear, which had been sedated, according to the release.

Fish and Game officers relocated the bear to a safer environment. The rescue took several hours, firefighters said.

Six Flags Magic Mountain is a 262-acre amusement park in Valencia, 35 miles northwest of Los Angeles. It has 20 roller coasters and more than 100 rides, games and other attractions.
