A school bus driver will be sporting a first-class vehicle after she won a jackpot in the North Carolina Lottery.

Bailey resident Hattie Orozco, 64, told lottery officials she “almost passed out” when she discovered her lottery win of $100,000 came with something extra — a new Corvette Stingray.

“When I got here and (lottery officials) told me, I was just beside myself,” Orozco told lottery officials. “It blew my mind.”

Orozco won the prize in the April 20 Corvette & Cash second-chance drawing, according to lottery officials. Her entry was chosen from more than 1.2 million entries.

Now, she’ll have the option to take home a 2021 model or any currently available model of a Corvette Stingray, according to lottery officials.

Orozco took home $71,010 after taxes and jump-started the process to take home her new car when she visited lottery headquarters in Raleigh, lottery officials said.

“I never dreamed of winning something like this,” Orozco told lottery officials.

Bailey is about 36 miles east of Raleigh.
