Officer resigns from Georgia job after he’s accused of having sex in uniform on TikTok
A police officer in Georgia has resigned after three videos that appear to show him having sex in uniform surfaced on TikTok and garnered more than 15 million views, according to local media reports.
The videos, posted by a man working on a telecommunications tower in Millen, according to WAGA, appear to show the officer engaging in sexual activity in a field behind a parked truck. A small cemetery is visible across the street.
The videos were posted on March 20, and one garnered 11.2 million views.
Millen Police Chief Dwayne Herrington told WRDW that he knew about the video and that he was set to meet with the officer on Monday, March 28, but that the officer resigned before the meeting. Herrington would not confirm to WRDW what the meeting was about.
When asked by McClatchy News for his response to the video, Herrington replied “no comment.”
The officer had a history of investigations into his conduct while with the department, according to WRDW. One instance in which he shot another officer in the arm was eventually deemed an accidental discharge, according to the news outlet.
Millen City Council meeting minutes from March 2020 reference a November 2019 accident in which the officer was involved.
WRDW reported that in 2019, the officer was responding to a call when he T-boned another car driving 86 miles an hour. The 76-year-old driver of the car ultimately died from his injuries, according to the news outlet.
Millen is about 50 miles south of Augusta.
