A 33-year-old woman is accused of fatally shooting her father in his Arizona home and told police he sexually abused her as a child, police said.

Gloria Reyes was seen yelling “I am here to take his life” as she got out of her red 2009 Nissan Altima with a gun in her hand on Feb. 21, Phoenix police said in a probable cause statement.

Reyes’ mother heard her daughter say she was at their home to “kill the monster,” police said.

When her mother refused to open the front door, police said Reyes fired a bullet at the ground, then pointed the gun at her mother.

Her mother then opened the front door and watched Reyes walk into the kitchen where she heard two gunshots and saw her husband fall to the ground, according the probable cause statement.

Other family members and witnesses heard the gunshots and saw Reyes standing over her father with a gun, police said.

Reyes called 911 to report the shooting and told the operator she shot her father, police said.

Police responded to the call around 10:14 a.m. By 10:26 a.m., her father was pronounced dead at the scene, police said.

Reyes told the police during an interview that her father had sexually abused her as a child, but she had never reported the abuse. She said she was experiencing homelessness and was not allowed at her father’s home, according to the probable cause statement.

She was arrested on multiple charges, including first-degree premeditated murder, first-degree murder during the crime, first-degree burglary and six counts of discharging a firearm in a city limit.

Reyes’ bail is set at $1 million.

Her next court hearing is Feb. 28.
