A family is holding out hope for the safe return of their loved one who disappeared from North Carolina this month.

Lejourney Farrow’s family said it’s been nearly two weeks since the 21-year-old boarded a plane for Las Vegas where she was to compete in a beauty pageant, WFMY News reported. She left Greensboro on Feb. 10 and hasn’t been seen or heard from since.

“She is very outgoing and she loved kids,” Randy Farrow told the news station of his sister. “One of the things was that she always wanted to be a role model, especially for the little girls in the community.”

Greensboro police are asking for the public’s help finding Lejourney. She is 5 feet, 6 inches tall, weighs115 pounds and has brown eyes and black hair, according to Greensboro Crime Stoppers.

Lejourney also has an infinity tattoo on one of her wrists, authorities said. It’s unclear what she was last seen wearing.

Her family reported her missing Feb. 19, a little more than a week after she was last seen boarding a flight at Piedmont Triad International Airport in Greensboro on Feb. 10, Greensboro police told McClatchy News in an update Wednesday, Feb. 23. Detectives confirmed Lejourney landed in Las Vegas on Feb. 10 and are now working with local authorities to find her.

After the pageant, the Pitt County native was expected to fly to New York City, WITN reported, citing relatives. She had a scheduled layover in Chicago on her way to the pageant, family members told the news station, and texted them when she landed . That was the last time they heard from her.

In a slightly different timeline, Randy Farrow wrote on Facebook that his sister was supposed to land in Vegas on Feb. 11 and “should have left no later then the 15th.” She was scheduled to fly to New York for New York Fashion Week and return to North Carolina on Feb. 17.

Relatives said it’s not like Lejourney to go off the grid without notifying anyone.

“Before she might go a day or two just not talking to anybody, but at least everybody knew she was in Greensboro,” Randy Farrow told WNCT. “She loves pageants, that’s her passion, and for her to go to a pageant and not post anything about her being there or her travel, that’s very very weird and suspicious.”

A Greensboro police detective confirmed to the news station that Lejourney made it onto her flight to Vegas.

Her family said it’s hoping for the best and that Lejourney will return home safely.

“Journey, we all love you and we just want you to come home, and we are praying that you’re OK, and we are going to find you,” her brother told WFMY News.

Anyone with information on Lejourney’s whereabouts is asked to call Greensboro/Guilford Crime Stoppers at 336-373-1000, or submit an anonymous tip online at P3tips.com.
