Missing snorkeler from Illinois last seen in waters off Puerto Rico, Coast Guard says

A missing woman from Illinois was reportedly last seen snorkeling near the shore of Punta Arenas in Vieques, Puerto Rico.

A U.S. Fish and Wildlife officer reported her disappearance to the Coast Guard, and the U.S. Coast Guard Sector San Juan Watchstanders were alerted at 7:15 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 8, according to a news release.

It is reported that 38-year-old Joanna Revis, from Chicago, was last seen about 1 p.m. Dec. 8 while wearing “swim attire consisting of a long-sleeve white shirt and a black short,” officials say.

A Coast Guard helicopter and patrol boat searched “throughout the night and into the morning” with assistance from air, marine and land units of the Puerto Rico Police Joint Forces of Rapid Action, Puerto Rico Emergency Management Bureau and U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service.

Anyone with information on her disappearance is asked to contact the Coast Guard Sector San Juan Command Center at 787-289-2041.
