Paul Rudd doesn’t seem to age — and he’s named People’s ‘Sexiest Man Alive’
Paul Rudd was announced Nov. 9 as People magazine’s ”Sexiest Man Alive,” prompting jokes about the actor who fans have referred to as the “ageless wonder.”
The 52-year-old “Ant-Man” star quipped in his cover story for the magazine he is “going to lean into” the honor hard.
“I’m going to own this. I’m not going to try to be like, ‘Oh, I’m so modest.’ I’m getting business cards made,” Rudd said. “But all of my friends will destroy me and I expect them to. And that’s why they’re my friends.”
But he told the publication he has “an awareness” that some may be surprised by the announcement, adding that “there are so many people that should get this before me.”
Rudd appeared in segments on “The Late Show” Nov. 9 as Stephen Colbert revealed Rudd as the winner. Past “Sexiest Man Alive” recipients include Michael B. Jordan, John Legend and Blake Shelton.
Rudd has been a recent fixture of the Marvel Cinematic Universe as Ant-Man and will soon star in “Ghostbusters: Afterlife” and “The Shrink Next Door” alongside Will Ferrell.
In recent years, fans have remarked on social media about how Rudd has not seemed to age. Photos of him appearing in the 1995 movie “Clueless” next to his more recent roles show Rudd has apparently somehow found the fountain of youth.
And his fans were quick to point that out again on Twitter after he was honored by People magazine.
“Paul Rudd wins People’s Sexiest Man Alive, using this photo of him from either 1994, 2002, 2010 or 2021,” one Twitter user said.
“I have no objection to Paul Rudd being named sexiest man alive,” another user said. “That wholesome gem been fine for decades, let him get his flowers.”
