Woman chases off intruder with broom after he breaks into home, Washington cops say
A man faces burglary charges after breaking into two women’s homes within a couple of days in Washington, police said.
Nicholas Berry, 30, is accused of entering the first woman’s home early Sunday morning, Spokane Police Department said in a news release.
Police arrested him and he told them he went into the home to see a friend he hasn’t seen in eight years.
Later that day, he was released on his own recognizance, according to the news release.
Then two days later another woman saw Berry pull a blanket from her garage. The woman tried to confront him but he went inside her home.
She chased him out with a broom, police said.
He was arrested again and Berry told police he was going to see a “longtime friend.”
Police then booked him into the Spokane County Jail again where he faces two counts of burglary and one count of malicious mischief.
