A human foot – still inside sock – found during river cleanup, Michigan officials say

Volunteers cleaning a Michigan river made a gruesome discovery over the weekend, media outlets report.

The Blackman-Leoni Department of Public Safety says the volunteers found a human foot Saturday in the Grand River in Jackson County, WILX reported. The foot was still in a sock, the news outlet reported.

A dive team searched the river for more body parts, but no others had been found by Monday, WLNS reported.

The Jackson County Medical Examiner’s Office is investigating, MLive reported.

The foot was found north of Interstate 94 near Jackson, a city about 40 miles south of Lansing.
