A man in Ohio died on Wednesday afternoon in the drive-thru of a Mansfield McDonald’s, police reported.

According to officials, a 69-year-old man in a 1995 Ford F-150 pickup truck managed to become pinned between his vehicle and a steel post that was outside the restaurant in the drive-thru. The victim “suffered injuries to his upper extremities” and was pronounced dead at the scene, police said.

Mansfield is about 60 miles from Columbia, Ohio.

Mansfield Police Detective Rob Skoprits said preliminary reports indicate that the man “may have dropped some change” outside his vehicle and when he opened the door to retrieve it, he became caught between the truck door and the pole, The Columbus Dispatch reported.

“That’s just preliminary what we’re thinking. Until the autopsy is done we won’t know the cause of death,” Skropits said, the Dispatch reported.

There was no evidence that alcohol or drugs were involved and toxicology results are pending an autopsy, police say.

The incident is still under investigation.

The man’s name has not been released by authorities.
