Marijuana recalled after plant worker is accused of licking joint, Michigan agency says

A widespread marijuana recall in Michigan stems from a complaint about a pot processing plant worker licking a pre-roll joint, officials say.

The Marijuana Regulatory Agency issued the recall Thursday after an investigation confirmed pre-rolls of pot contained human saliva. The contaminated joints were sent to “many” retail locations across the state, officials say.

The agency launched an investigation into a Bay City marijuana processing facility and store after complaints about an employee licking pre-roll joint product while making it, officials say. The investigation is ongoing, and the facility has stopped processing.

The recall affects stores in Detroit, Ann Arbor, Lansing, Bay City, Hazel Park, Traverse City, River Rouge, Ferndale, Quincy, Lowell, Negaunee and Lapeer.

“Consumers who have these contaminated pre-rolls in their possession should return them to the provisioning center or retailer where they were purchased for proper disposal,” the Marijuana Regulatory Agency said. “Provisioning centers must notify patients and caregivers who purchased these pre-rolls of the recall.”
