Stolen COVID-19 stimulus checks and meth found in couple’s hotel room, Texas cops say

A couple had stolen coronavirus stimulus checks and meth in their hotel room, Texas cops say.

An employee at a Holiday Inn in Cypress, a suburb of Houston, called police on Monday after receiving information that a fraudulent credit card transaction was detected at the business, according to Harris County Constable’s Office Precinct 4.

Deputies went to the couple’s room and found 44 grams of meth, 5 grams of Valium and three stimulus checks that belonged to other people, police said.

Heidi Hubbard and Dustin Whitman are charged with possession of a controlled substance with intent to distribute, police said.

Hubbard also is charged with failure to identify because she’s accused of providing deputies with a false name, police said.
