Shoplifter evades store security, but leaves behind job application, Nebraska cops say
A Nebraska man will likely have to look at additional places for employment following his arrest at an Omaha sporting goods store.
Gage Krasa, 20, was spotted Monday by the loss prevention manager at Scheel’s in Omaha, taking a $39.99 bottle of cologne and putting it in his pants, according to a report by the Omaha Police Department. Krasa is accused of exiting the store without paying for the cologne and the store employee wrote down his license plate information, police said.
But that wasn’t Krasa’s only mistake. Before he grabbed the cologne, Krasa filled out a job application at the store, leaving his name and address, according to Omaha police.
After police verified it was Krasa who stood accused of stealing from the sporting goods store, employees helped out police by bringing Krasa in for a job interview. Officers were dispatched upon his arrival, police said.
Police searched the vehicle Krasa was driving and found the bottle of cologne as well as a drug paraphernalia, an arrest report states. He was cited for shoplifting and possession of drug paraphernalia, police said.
Another man in Krasa’s vehicle was also cited with possession of drug paraphernalia after officers found a “large marijuana bong” in the car, according to police.
