Joe Buck will do play-by-plays of your home videos — just don’t send him raunchy ones

Boredom makes us do some pretty bizarre things. But this might take the cake.

With sports being on hiatus currently thanks to the coronavirus pandemic, fans are looking anywhere and everywhere to quench their desperate thirst... so to speak.

Recently, St. Louis golden boy commentator Joe Buck reached out to sports fans on Twitter, asking them to send in their personal videos so he can do a “play-by-play” of their quarantine hi-jinks.

Needless to say, the results were nothing short of brilliant.

What can possibly go wrong?

According to Buck, so very much.

Even though it started as an innocent and hilarious idea formed by Buck himself, it quickly turned into a strange NSFW (not safe for work) thread. Buck went on St. Louis radio program “The Charlie Brennan Show” on KMOX with hosts Amy Marxkors and Charlie Brennan in order to explain.

Sounds like boredom is really getting to sports fans.

“Yeah, I’ve had a couple of submissions from let’s say, a man and a woman, that just didn’t seem appropriate to put my voice to in this stage of my life,” Buck explained to KMOX. “Maybe later in life, but not now. I look at these videos very carefully and pick the ones that seem the most wholesome to put my voice to.”

Buck also explained that he constantly has to eagle-eye over each Twitter submission with a fine-tooth comb.

“You have to go through these videos like the Zapruder film because you’re worried that there’s going to be something in the background, there’s going to be something hidden like a Highlights Magazine that we should not focus on, but it’s still there and it becomes some internet thing where I put my voice to something that I shouldn’t have.”

Buck isn’t the only commentator who is lending his voice to those fans who are suffering from pandemic cabin fever. Broadcaster Andrew Cotter of BBC joyfully engaged his own pups in an eating competition while narrating.

Even amateur commentators have gotten in on the game and are taking a few hints from the big-league guys.

C’mon people, let’s keep it clean while in quarantine – at least for Joe Buck’s sake.
