McDonald’s is auctioning off a $90,000 Golden Shamrock Shake — and giving one away

Sure, the McDonald’s Shamrock Shake is great, but how would you feel about one in a bedazzled cup worth $90,000?

McDonald’s is auctioning one off — and giving one away to a very lucky winner, the company said online.

In honor of the 50th anniversary of the cult-favorite Shamrock Shake, McDonald’s created the Golden Shamrock Shake — a handcrafted 18 karat gold cup bejeweled with emeralds and white and yellow diamonds, according to the auction listing.

Bids for the cup, listed on eBay, started at $1 on Feb. 25 but have already soared to more than $15,000.

Proceeds for the cup will go to Ronald McDonald House, according to the listing. Bidding ends March 6.

If $15,000 is a little out of your price range, don’t worry; there’s another way to get your hand on the elusive Golden Shamrock Shake.

McDonald’s is giving one away.

Just purchase a Shamrock Shake or Oreo Shamrock McFlurry on the McDonald’s app between now and March 6 for a chance to win, the company said online. You can also enter by emailing entry@amoeentry.com with the date of your entry in the subject line and your first and last name in the body of the email.
