‘Lucky Lulu’ the lone survivor after 6 Chihuahuas thrown from van, Michigan cops say
Two people in a van tossed six Chihuahuas from passenger window, killing all but one of the dogs, Michigan police say.
The lone survivor is now named Lucky Lulu.
The suspects were driving a silver Honda Odyssey on Feb. 6 in Allegan County, which is south of Grand Rapids, when they threw the dogs out of the vehicle, according to a news release. A witness told investigators that five of the dogs died at the scene, police said.
The witnesses took the surviving dog to a shelter and buried the others, MLive.com reported.
Allegan County Undersheriff Mike Larsen said investigators are digging up the dog’s bodies to hopefully find identifying information, the news site reported.
Pet Klips, a pet groomer in the area, is taking care of Lucky Lulu, police said.
The suspects are described as a white woman with blonde hair in her 20s or 30s who is skinny and missing teeth, police said. The man is also in his 20s or 30s, skinny, missing teeth and has “big curly hair” that is long and dark, police said.
