1,738 piglets must be corralled after semi flips on Interstate 35 in Iowa, cops say
A semitrailer hauling more than 1,700 piglets overturned Thursday afternoon on Interstate 35 in Iowa, police say.
The crash forced troopers to help corral and transport the baby pigs, according to an Iowa Department of Public Safety tweet.
The semi overturned in the eastbound lanes of the Interstate 80/35 ramp to northbound Interstate 35 near Des Moines, KCCI reported.
Traffic was going to be slow or blocked in the area, officials said.
Authorities asked drivers to be careful as they worked to “corral and transport 1,738 piglets.”
