Three Florida prison workers accused of plotting to kill former inmate

TALLAHASSEE, Fla. – Officials say three current and former Florida’s Department of Corrections employees were members of the Ku Klux Klan and planned to kill a former inmate who is black.

Attorney General Pam Bondi’s office says they planned the murder after his release from prison as retaliation for a fight between him and one of the workers.

Bondi’s office says Thomas Jordan Driver, David Elliot Morgan and Charles Thomas Newcomb each were arrested Thursday on one state count of conspiracy to commit murder.

Driver and Morgan are employees of the Department of Corrections, and Newcomb is a former corrections employee.
