Right in the middle of the last presidential brawl, er, debate, one Twitter user issued a plaintive plea.

The good news for him: This election season has gone to the dogs.
Pups across the country have launched their own canine campaigns. Pictures of dogs all decked out in their finest suits, ties and campaign buttons, are popping up on Instagram, Imgur, Reddit and Twitter.
“After all, who wouldn’t trust those faces? These are candidates with our best interests at heart,” writes The Dodo animal blog, which noted the trend.
Dogs for president ‘cause ... ‘Murica.
“No donkey, or elephant. We need a dog!”
Mason the Chihuahua has a debate-ready stare.
Gordie here is such “a pawfect candidate” he won't even stick his tongue out on #TongueOutTuesday, pitches the Sidewalk Dog Instagram page.
This canine costume obviously comes in large, medium and teacup.
“Treats for all.” Some candidates will promise anything.

Snoop Dogg, is that you?
This little guy would settle for Paw-ttorney General.
You can skip the vote. He’ll take a belly rub.
