‘Bill! Let’s go.’ Clinton keeps impatient Obama waiting to leave Israel on Air Force One
He yelled. He clapped his hands three times. And still, President Obama couldn’t light a fire under former President Bill Clinton on Friday.
The two were leaving Israel after attending the funeral of Israeli statesman Shimon Peres. Obama had already boarded Air Force One when Clinton, who was catching a ride home, lingered behind.
Britain’s Sky News captured footage of Obama, standing inside the plane, clapping three times then shouting “let’s go” down to Clinton on the tarmac.
Clinton and Secretary of State John Kerry were seen chatting on the tarmac before departure, according to reports.
Obviously ready to leave, Obama walked out to the top of the staircase and shouted, “Bill. Let’s go, I’ll take you home,” as he waved Clinton toward the plane.
Clinton is later seen walking up the stairs to the plane where Obama waited. The two shook hands and patted each other on the back before they walked onto the plane.
"Bill!" Who can keep a President waiting? Why, another President of course @BarackObama @billclinton @POTUS https://t.co/rPlvoI87xQ
