Pentagon reports two military deaths

The U.S. Defense Department has reported these fatalities from Afghanistan:

Army Command Sgt. Maj. Martin R Barreras, 49, of Tucson, Ariz., died May 13 in San Antonio Military Medical Center in Texas from wounds suffered from small-arms fire on May 6 in Harat province.

Army Chief Warrant Officer Deric M. Rasmussen, 33, of Oceanside, Calif., died May 11 in an incident unrelated to combat in Mazar E Sharif.
