Philadelphia police release surveillance video of elderly woman’s mugging

The Philadelphia Police Department has released a surveillance video showing an elderly woman being mugged earlier this month.

In the video, which was recorded June 1, a woman can be seen walking behind an 82-year-old victim. The woman appears to grab the victim’s pocketbook and throw the older woman to the ground at the intersection of Battersby Street and Tyson Avenue. According to police, the victim sustained an abrasion to her right elbow.

The suspect, who is still at large, is described as a 5-foot-5-inch tall Hispanic female with shoulder length hair. She was last seen wearing a pink and gray striped shirt and dark-colored pants.
