New political bromance alert: Canada’s Trudeau and France’s Macron together at G7

This is not a story about the important geopolitical matters being hashed out at the G7 summit in Sicily.

See the political page for that.

This is about the other G7 story that has Twitter all aflutter today.

Justin Trudeau of Canada, meet Emmanuel Macron of France.

Sigh.

This is their first time together on the world stage since the independent Macron was elected president of France earlier this month.

The Canadian prime minister is formerly one-half of another famous political bromance.

Out with the old, in with the new.

“The Franco-Canadian friendship has a new face,” Macron declared after meeting Trudeau.

Turns out Trudeau and Macron, both fair of face, are just too hot for social media to handle.

This is how Trudeau described their meeting.

This is how Twitter responded.

Aren’t they dreamy?

Gee, we wish we spoke French.

Is climate change real? Who cares.

Who’s hotter?

And while Trudeau and his new bro-pal stroll among the flowers, somewhere out there — coincidentally on the same continent today — is this guy.
