Wyandotte County

In the Dotte dispatch: Wyandotte County’s final Country Stampede. Then what?

Azura Amphitheater in Bonner Springs, with a capacity of approximately 18,000 people, recently completed significant offseason upgrades after four decades of hosting outdoor concerts. These improvements included the refurbishment and replacement of some of the venue’s blue seats, as well as new concrete walkways and in the pit area. The stage was also in the process of being re-painted.

Good afternoon, Wyandotte County!

Well, folks, it may be the last time you get a chance to camp out with Scotty McCreery and Rascal Flatts for a whole summer weekend in Bonner Springs.

After setting up shop at Bonner’s Azura Amphitheater in 2024, a major Midwest country music festival has just announced that it’s moving, again.

I’m Sofi Zeman, your guide through all things KCK. Let’s get to it.

Country Stampede, a Kansas-born, outdoor country music festival, will leave Wyandotte County for Wichita next year, its parent company recently announced.

That means this weekend, which also marks the festival’s 30th anniversary, will be the last chance to celebrate in the Kansas City metro before the event leaves town.

The move out west will allow the festival to grow even more, welcome larger crowds and expand its camping, food and beverage offerings, according to Kustom Entertainment.

The Star’s Joseph Hernandez has the scoop on what this move will mean for fans and the festival’s future.

💷Two best friends working for the Wyandotte County District Court stole almost $1 million in public funds. Their fates will be decided in court later this month.

⚽Their team may have lost to England last week, but Croatian fans in KCK took much more from the experience. See how they banded together in KCK for a “family reunion.”

What in the UG

🏠 While managing the grief of losing a loved ones, some Wyandotte residents have also needed to worry about losing their homes. A new effort seeks to keep that from happening.
