The back-and-forth over the Affordable Care Act and the Missouri legislature continues...

State Rep. Mike Moon of Ash Grove has introduced a resolution calling on the state’s congressional delegation to seek repeal of Obamacare with “manly firmness,” a phrase that has prompted a few chuckles across the state.

Moon says it comes from the Declaration of Independence.

Here’s a part of the resolution:

“... we, the members of the Missouri House of Representatives … hereby insist that each member of the Missouri Congressional delegation endeavor with ‘manly firmness’ and resolve to totally and completely repeal the Affordable Care Act, settling for no less than a full repeal.”

Sen. Claire McCaskill is having none of that.

“I don’t think you prove your manhood by kicking folks off their health coverage and once again letting insurance companies discriminate against women and sick people,” she said in a statement.
