If current projections hold, the 2016 presidential race stands to turn into a ho-hum affair — even with Donald Trump in the race.
A new Electoral College projection from the University of Virginia Center for Politics shows Hillary Clinton at an overwhelming 348 votes. That’s far more than the 270 needed to win the presidency.
“Anything can happen over the next dozen weeks, but we wouldn’t recommend betting your children’s college funds on a Trump administration,” writes UVA scholar Larry Sabato and two others.
Bottom line: The path to victory for Trump has narrowed considerably.
