Is Donald Trump’s controversial presidential campaign making a down-ballot Republican, such as Kansas Congressman Kevin Yoder, vulnerable?
Maybe not, according to a new survey from Yoder’s pollster, Neil Newhouse, whose Public Opinion Strategies has been polling on behalf of Kansas Republicans for years.
Newhouse has Yoder leading energetic Democratic nominee Jay Sidie by 53-36 percent. The poll of 400 likely November voters was taken Saturday through Monday and had a margin of error of 4.9 percent. That means each number could vary by that many points.
The poll showed Yoder was leading by nearly 20 points among independents.

The survey also showed that just 19 percent of voters had heard of Sidie.
