Kansas delegates thought Trump hit a home run with speech

Kansas delegates raved about Donald Trump’s acceptance speech Thursday night.

Here’s what they said:

▪  “Mister Trump brought many Americans together tonight. His comments about protecting the police were particularly powerful, and I believe the Trump-Pence ticket will win in November.” - Derek Kreifels.

▪  “I liked that Trump focused on what he will do rather than just bash his opponent. He has outlined ambitious plans for his presidency. It’s a big agenda. I hope he doesn’t plan on sleeping.” - Laura McConwell, a former Mission mayor.

▪  “The speech was emotionally inspiring. It hit all the key policy points, and it deftly eviscerated Hillary Clinton. Our delegation felt the speech was a home run.” - Clay Barker, executive director of the Kansas Republican Party.

▪  “Good speech. Tonight I think Americans saw someone who may not be a slick politician, but someone not afraid to be bold.” - Tim Shallenburger, a former House speaker.
