The joke is on Bob Dole, and he’s making the cracks
Bob Dole is nearing his 93rd birthday, and is still cracking wise with the best of them.
At a birthday reception sponsored by his Washington law firm Alston & Bird on Tuesday, Dole joked about his age and his eyesight.
Some samples via Clay Barker, executive director of the Kansas Republican Party:
“My eyesight’s going, my hearing’s going, it’s hard to walk — but other than that I’m fine.”
And:
“My eyesight is getting bad. I can’t see men, but I can still see women.”
Attending were three current U.S. senators: Mitch McConnell, the Senate majority leader from Kentucky, Orrin Hatch of Utah and Pat Roberts of Kansas.
