Missouri convention delegates gathered for their first caucus Monday ready to support nominee Donald Trump, but not embrace him.

Several said privately they think Trump will struggle to win in November, although they think the businessman leads in Missouri. But they said Trump won the state’s primary, fair and square, so they’re prepared to cast their votes for him on the floor.

“It’s been an evolution,” said Kay Hoflander, a delegate from Higginsville. “There’s probably a little pocket that may not be (for Trump), but all in all what I hear over and over is .... the delegates want to honor how the people voted.”
