First, Tim Huelskamp played tough. Now he needs help

Tim Huelskamp, the far western Kansas congressman, is in the fight of his life.

Kicked off the House Agriculture Committee by former House Speaker John Boehner, Huelskamp is now scrambling to regain a seat that’s so critical to farm-centric Kansas.

But the prospects of that happening before the Aug. 2 primary appear unlikely as Huelskamp squares off against fellow conservative Roger Marshall, who’s giving Huelskamp all the race he can handle.

One Steering Committee member who could help the congressman regain his ag committee membership said this of Huelskamp:

“He’s burned more bridges than J.E.B. Stuart.” That’s a reference to the Confederate Army general.

Politico has the story.
