Kansas Democrats are looking for new leadership in the wake of four-year chair Joan Wagnon’s decision to step down.
Hawver’s Capitol Report said the candidates are Teresa Krusor of Winfield, Larry Meeker of Lake Quivera and, possibly, former state Treasurer Dennis McKinney.
Krusor is a former long-time party vice chair who is now a national committeewoman. She says she has experience in party operations and wants to give legislators a stronger voice in how things are run.
Meeker is a banker who wants to shoot for higher turnout at election time.

McKinney is a former state rep. Hawver said there’s a Facebook page urging his candidacy.
The new chair will be selected in March at the party’s annual Washington Days gala. Oh, the party has landed a high-profile speaker for that event — Maryland Gov. Martin O’Malley.
