Sens. Ted Cruz and Marco Rubio were the easy winners of a weekend straw poll of Kansas Republicans.
At their state convention in Overland Park, the party asked for presidential preferences as part of a fund-raising effort. Cruz won with nearly half the votes (see above.) Rubio was second, behind Cruz.
Gov. John Kasich was third.
Donald Trump finished far behind. That isn’t a great surprise — Trump isn’t the favorite among the party’s rank and file, the office-holders and precinct workers who attended the weekend convention.
