National Review, a well-known conservative website and publication, is out with a story Tuesday on the feud between Rep. Tim Huelskamp of Kansas and Jeff Roe, a political consultant.
Roe is now running the presidential campaign of Sen. Ted Cruz of Texas.
In the story Roe denies any involvement in working for a GOP primary opponent for Huelskamp. Roger Marshall and Alan LaPolice have filed to run against the First District Kansas congressman. Of the two, Marshall has raised far more money, FEC records show.
There is no record of any payments from the Marshall campaign to Roe or Axiom Strategies, his Kansas City firm.
There is a record of a third-party expenditure for Huelskamp. FreedomWorks for America, a super PAC, spent $47,389 to support Huelskamp in October.
