Rex wants more

Rex Sinquefield isn’t done.

The retired businessman just gave $1.5 million to the political group Grow Missouri with clear instructions: Find out what’s next on the agenda.

Sinquefield was a chief advocate for tax cuts in Missouri, and he won a significant victory last week when the General Assembly barely overrode Gov. Jay Nixon’s veto of tax-cut legislation.

Grow Missouri Treasurer Aaron Willard told the Associated Press that Sinquefield wants the group to develop new issues to pursue next year.

Sinquefield contributed about $1.8 million to Grow Missouri last year.

One objective could be to support a ballot measure limiting teacher tenure and basing teacher employment on student achievement, Willard said.

He said the group may also support a ballot measure establishing a right to farm, as well as future issues focused on making government more efficient and improving the state's economy
