John Kasich becomes the first GOP presidential candidate to file in Kansas
John Kasich is first in Kansas.
So to speak.
Hawver’s Capitol Report noted Thursday evening that the two-term Ohio governor has become the first GOP presidential candidate to file for a spot on the Kansas Republican Party caucus ballot.
GOP state Chairman Kelly Arnold confirmed the development.
The move isn’t cheap. To sign up for the March 5 caucuses, the Kansas Republican Party is charging $15,000.
Hawver said none of the other 14 GOP candidates has paid the filing fee yet.
