Baumgardner defeats O’Hara to claim JoCo state Senate seat
A former member of the Johnson County Community College Board of Trustees, Molly Baumgardner, has won a seat in the state Senate representing southern Johnson County.
At a special election convention Monday night in Spring Hill, Baumgardner defeated former state Rep. Charlotte O’Hara 50-35, Hawver’s Capitol Report said.
The vote was of precinct committee members.
Baumgardner is anti-abortion and opposes Common Core standards.
She’ll replace Pat Apple who is now a member of the Kansas Corporation Commission.
