Sebelius to Kansas, rest of world: “Nope”
Kathleen Sebelius stepped all over the silly talk this week that she was considering a run this year for the U.S. Senate from Kansas.
She’s not, the former Kansas governor
.
“Secretary Sebelius is continuing her important work at H.H.S. and is not considering a run for the Senate,” the spokeswoman said.
It may have been true that some Democrats were interested in seeing her do it. But this had “no way” stamped all over it from the moment The New York Times floated this chatter a few days ago.
For one thing, Republican incumbent Pat Roberts would’ve killed her. Obamacare, which Sebelius owns, is as popular in Kansas as droughts.
And two, she’s tired from the tough years at HHS.
